WikiLeaks

So Wikileaks recently made the news headlines on all major media. Companies with dirty secrets needs to be on extra vigilant and watch out for attacks. The next attack target, BAC??? Are controls and processes in place?? What mitigation techniques are effective? Let's monitor and watch for now. :)

It's great how 2 blog articles about bank hacking gets you over 200 replies posted by spasming idiots and a genuine post about the wiki-leaks goes pretty much silent, shows the mentality of some of your readers! :P nice.

If your interested and have been following the news:

One of the more cringe-worthy stories to come out of the Wikileaks-Anonymous-DDOS plotline in the last few weeks is the lack of security practiced by just about everyone involved. Authorities found the name of a designer named Alex Tapanaris embedded in a PDF press release purporting to come from the hacker group Anonymous. His site was later inaccessible and he was said to have been arrested.

Several other people were arrested, said to be allied to Anonymous, in the Netherlands. Their identities may have been ascertained because the LOIC (Low Orbit Ion Cannon) software used for the retaliatory DDOS attacks carried user information with it.

Like I said bunch of Spasming idiots!

http://dump.no/files/467072ba2a42/ANONOPS_The_Press_Release.pdf

Right click the file and view Properties it was written in Open Office 2.4 and even has the authors name. Best spasming idiot so far!

P.S: I forgot to say as a Spasming idiot who is pretty much unknown that must mean I am one of the greats! Beats being classed as one of the Kids with a Low Orbit Ion Canon which if anyone else is interested in getting arrested is available on github!

Oh && @ the hacka man, your article on finding SQL injection was enlightening as I see you yourself use Windows NT 5.1 and furthermore by hacking into a site which you claim you stumbled upon whilst doing a spree of online shopping is a frank admission of GUILT under the Data Protection Act of 1984. Be careful what you post about having hacked your way into or you too may find yourself getting a visit from two people, the first will be a pissed off uber hacker administrator the second will be a man with a badge and a warrant.

Brains Kid.. were where yours when they where handing you your network security certificate? Where they in your pants getting bigger because you were busy thinking, thats it I am a real hacker now I have this piece of paper, I can hack any site I want without the owners permission?!

Your absolutely correct in your assessment that "A well known hacker is a good hacker, an unknown hacker is a great hacker..."

If employers actually examined half the people that work for them in the IT & ICT field what they would find is a lot of BULL**ITERS running a Rat Race to stay on the top.

One employer in the industry asked me for CREST certification with CISSP certification and CEH certification, but has any employer out there stopped to consider what those three certificates alone COST each year?!?

The first one is 7000.00 a year in membership. Suffice to say if you added up the other two the guy your paying 27'000 a year would probably be flat broke and homeless.

Think about it!

Take heart though and consider if I didn't pull you up over it now, someone else will do later... Hackers are not motivated by Money, we could care less about the Money, we do what we do because our love for the Bit & Byte is an almost spiritual experience!
